Ain Shams University was established in July 1950 under the name of University of "Ibrahim Pasha",. Ain Shams University is considered the third in terms of growing up among the Egyptian universities after the University of "Fouad the first" (Next) and "Farouk the first" (Alexandria). After the revolution of July1952 because of the desire to make a clean break with the monarchy was to change the name of the University from "Ibrahim Pasha" to the "Heliopolis"University on 21 February 1954 and then the name has changed in the same year to it's current name (Ain Shams University).
